Flaxseed & Brown Rice Italian Bread 

As I undertake The Daniel Fast for the first few weeks of January, it’s made me become even more creative with my cooking so I found a recipe on of Daniel Fast-approved bread, and created my own rendition which resulted in this amazing Flaxseed & Brown Rice Italian Bread!


  • 2 1/4 cups of brown rice flour
  • 2 tbsp. of flaxseeds
  • 1.5 tsp. of rosemary
  • 1.5 tsp. of salt
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 2 tbsp. of olive oil
  • 1 tsp. of ground basil
  • 1 tsp. of garlic powder

Step 1: Combine the salt, rosemary, brown rice flour, and flax seeds into a bowl. Add the hot water last.

Step 2: Knead the dough for 3-8 minutes and then round it into a ball. Allow the dough to sit on the counter for 1-2 hours.

Step 3: Combine the olive oil, basil, and garlic powder into a small bowl.

Step 4: After the dough has sat, spread the dough across a bread pan.

Step 5: Use a fork and poke holes across the bread.

Step 6: Brush the olive oil mixture across the bread ensuring the mixture gets into the holes.

Step 7: Bake the bread for 20-25 minutes and enjoy!
